Legacies of Love and Remembrance

With its Memorial and Tribute Funds, the Foundation supports donors who share the common goal of supporting student education in our district. Memorial and Tribute Funds are separate funds created by donors who desire a separate charitable fund with distinct parameters that align with the stated purposes of the Foundation and that benefit from centralized fund administration provided by the Foundation. The purpose of each Memorial and Tribute Fund may vary according to the charitable goals of the donor, but are often created as scholarships and awards for BBH High School graduating seniors.

These Memorial and Tribute Funds, endowed funds, in particular, create great leverage when combined with the funds raised annually from the Foundation’s annual fundraising efforts.

The Brecksville Bicentennial Scholarship

This scholarship was created by the Friends of the Brecksville Bicentennial Committee as a remembrance of the 200th anniversary of the founding of Brecksville. It is awarded annually to a student who best exemplifies community service during their four years of high school and is interested in pursuing a career in public service.

Thank you for your contribution!

Scholarships and recipients are chosen independently by members of the district’s faculty staff. Each high school student who completed the Guidance Department’s general scholarship application is eligible to be considered for a Foundation scholarship or award.

Other donors have created Memorial and Tribute Funds to award classroom grants to teachers who propose projects within certain criteria, such as creative ways of supplementing school curriculum.

The Schools Foundation is honored to support donors interested in creating a separate fund that will help further the charitable purpose of the Foundation, while also creating a lasting legacy that will have a continued, long term impact on the lives of students.

Creating a fund in honor or memory of someone builds a lasting legacy that will continue to have an impact on the lives of students for years to come. A named fund is required to meet a certain donation minimum, and the fund’s sponsor can set guidelines for the use of the fund. For information, please contact the Foundation at info@bbhsf.org or 440-740-4785.
